My answer: No, David Bowie wrote "All The Young Dudes". The band who performed it is Mott The Hoople, whose lead singer/pianist/songwriter was Ian Hunter, later famous for "Once Bitten Twice Shy", "Cleveland Rocks", and "Ships", among many other great songs.
